NOOSA-Amsterdam
The Nivkh people believed that spirits lived everywhere – in heaven, on earth, in water, in forests. They wore clothes made of fish scales and believed that they would protect them from evil forces. During rituals, local shamans traveled between worlds and asked the spirits for healing and good weather. The symbol depicted on the chunk® is a powerful amulet and gives strength to its owner.
