For centuries, Ukrainian artisans have been using the Easter ornament called "pysanka" in their products. This type of fine art is rooted in ancient rites dedicated to the spring awakening of nature and the beginning of field work. The pattern is traditionally applied with a stick, wax, and vegetable dyes to eggs. Nowadays, the style of decorating is widespread in the western regions of Ukraine and is a symbol of the struggle against the forces of evil, the personification of hope, happiness, and new beginnings.
